I love my job, but music and the performing arts require much more than just technical ability and creativity. These professions also require a high level of physical and mental stamina. As a professional violinist with many years of stage experience, I am very familiar with the challenges that musicians and performers face. Pressure to perform, stress, stage fright and muscular tension can have a significant impact on artistic performance and general well-being. With my yoga courses, I want to bring body, mind and soul back into harmony so that you can better cope with the demands of artistic life and continue to enjoy making music/art to the full.

Individual practice sequences for musicians and performers

In my yoga classes, I develop individual exercise sequences that are specifically tailored to the needs of individual musicians and performers.

Breathing exercisesTo regulate breathing, calm the nerves and sharpen concentration. These techniques are particularly helpful for finding inner peace before performances.

MeditationTo clear the mind and promote inner calm. This helps the artists to be focused and present on stage.

Concentration techniquesTo strengthen your mental presence on stage and effectively counter stage fright. These techniques help to find the mental and physical balance needed to perform confidently and self-assuredly under pressure.

Relief for shoulders, neck, wrists and strengthening of the core

The daily handling of instruments or performing tasks can put a lot of strain on the body, especially in the shoulders, wrists, neck and core. Repetitive, one-sided movements often lead to muscular imbalances, tension and pain. In my yoga classes, we therefore place particular emphasis on:

Targeted mobilizationTo promote mobility and specifically relieve tension.

Stretching exercisesTo relax and lengthen the muscles, especially in the shoulder, neck and back area.

Strengthening exercisesTo build a stable core and correct muscular imbalances.

These exercises help to promote healthy posture, which not only prevents pain, but also improves physical stamina and stage presence.

Relaxation through meditation, yoga nidra and yin yoga

After an intensive concert or a demanding rehearsal, it is essential to calm and regenerate body and mind. This is where we use various forms of meditation, yoga nidra and yin yoga:

Meditation techniquesThese help to calm the mind and organize thoughts, which is particularly important after a strenuous performance.

Yin YogaThis gentle, meditative form of yoga promotes deep relaxation and supports the regeneration of the body. The long, passive stretches work deep into the muscles and connective tissue, releasing tension and contributing to mental serenity.

Yoga NidraAlso known as the "yogi's sleep", yoga nidra is a guided deep relaxation that refreshes the mind and fully regenerates the body. This technique can be particularly beneficial after intense periods of rehearsal or performance.

These practices not only support physical recovery, but also mental regeneration, so that artists can start their next rehearsal or performance with full energy and clear focus.

Why yoga for musicians and performers?

Yoga is much more than a physical exercise - it is a holistic system that balances body and mind. For musicians and performers, who often work under high pressure and have to deliver exceptional physical and mental performances, yoga offers the tools they need to stay healthy and productive. Whether in preparation for a big performance or to recover afterwards, yoga enriches and supports the everyday life of artists in many ways.

Ich spiele seit meinem fünften Lebensjahr Geige.
